Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official visit to the Netherlands, November 2015

Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, accompanied by a high-level delegation including Hon’ble Foreign Minister Mr. Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, MP and Hon’ble State Minister for Water Resources Mr. Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Bir Protik, MP, and a business delegation of 30 members, paid a bilateral official visit to the Netherlands on 3-5 November 2015 at the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands H.E. Mr. Mark Rutte. This was the first-ever bilateral official visit to the Netherlands by any Prime Ministers of Bangladesh. 


The Dutch Queen Her Majesty Máxima’s visit to Bangladesh, November 2015

Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Kingdom of the Netherlands visited Bangladesh on 16-18 November 2015 in her role as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, at the invitation of the Bangladesh government. 


Dutch Twin Ministerial Visit, June 2015

Two Dutch Ministers (Ms. Lilianne Ploumen, Minister for Foreign Trade & Development Cooperation and Ms. Melanie Schultz, Minister for Infrastructure & Environment) jointly undertook a historic visit to Bangladesh on 14-18 June 2015. 


The Dutch Queen, as the UN Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, visits Bangladesh again in July 2019

Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Kingdom of the Netherlands visited Bangladesh again on 9-11 July 2019 in her role as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, at the invitation of the Government of Bangladesh. The Queen visited Bangladesh to promote people’s access to financial services in Bangladesh as the country is currently developing a national strategy to improve people’s access to financial services. 


Dutch Development Cooperation Minister visits Bangladesh on 5-6 November 2018

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands, H.E. Ms Sigrid Kaag visited Bangladesh in the first week of November 2019 to gain personal insight into the Rohingya crisis, the authorities’ response and the humanitarian aid being offered. During the visit, the Dutch Minister called on the Hon’ble Prime Minister and visited Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar to talk to the forcibly displaced Rohingya people.

  • 2019
    • Hon’ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Mr Zahid Maleque, MP visited the Netherlands at the invitation of Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Ms Sigrid Kaag to attend the International Conference on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Crisis Situations held on 8 October 2019 in Amsterdam.
  • 2018
    • Hon’ble Speaker Dr.Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP visited the Netherlands to attend the 20th Anniversary of the adoption of Rome Statute held on 16-17 July 2018 in The Hague.
    • Hon’ble Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Mr. Anisul Islam Mahmud, MP, visited the Netherlands on 15-18 October 2018 to represent the Hon’ble Prime Minister at the launching of the Global Commission on Adaptation on 16 October 2019.
    • Hon’ble State Minister for ICT, Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP visited the Netherlands on 28 January 2018 to meet the senior officials of the telecom company VEON in Amsterdam.
    • The Third Foreign Office Consultations between Bangladesh and the Netherlands was held on 20 February 2018 in The Hague and the Bangladesh delegation was led by Foreign Secretary Mr. Md. Shahidul Haque.
    • A public-private business delegation led by Mr. Kazi M. Aminul Islam, Executive Chairman, BIDA visited the Netherlands on 22-24 April 2018.
  • 2017
    • Arch. Yeafesh Osman, Hon’ble Minister for Science and Technology visited the Netherlands from 2-6 May 2017 to explore piloting Dutch innovation in fish and vegetables production in Bangladesh. 
    • Hon’ble Chief Justice of Bangladesh visited the Netherlands from 17-22 June 2017 to gain insights on digitalization of courts and e-court system in the Netherlands.
  • 2016
    • Hon’ble State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Md. Shahriar Alam, MP visited the Netherlands on 15-16 November 2016 to lead Bangladesh delegation to the Fifteenth Session of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute held in The Hague on 16-24 November 2016.
    • Hon’ble Finance Minister Mr. Abul Maal A. Muhith visited the Netherlands from 27 September -1 October 2016 to inaugurate the first-ever Dutch-Bangla EXPO 2016 held in Amsterdam on 28-29 September 2016. 
    • Hon’ble Minister for Water Resources, H.E. Mr. Anisul Islam Mahmud, MP visited the Netherlands from 9-11 May 2016 to attend the Ministerial Conference on Sustainable Urban Deltas held in Rotterdam on 9-10 May 2016. 
  • 2015
    • The First-ever Bilateral Consolations between Bangladesh and the Netherlands was held on 10 September 2015 in The Hague and the Bangladesh delegation was led by Foreign Secretary Mr. Md. Shahidul Haque.
    • Hon’ble Foreign Minister, H.E. A. H. Mahmood Ali, MP visited the Netherlands from 14-18 April 2015 to attend the Global Conference on Cyber space. 
    • Hon’ble Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, H.E. Mr. Anisul Huq visited The Hague from 21-23 January 2015. He met the ICC Presidency and the Prosecutor of ICC.
    • Hon’ble Minister for Water Resources, H.E. Mr. Anisul Islam Mahmud, MP visited the Netherlands in May and held a meeting a meeting with Dutch Minister for Infrastructure and Environment Ms. Melanie Schultz-Van Haegen on 18 May 2015
    • Hon’ble Minister for Planning H.E. Mr. A H M Mustafa Kamal, FCA, MP visited the Netherlands from 27-30 April 2015 to discuss with the Dutch side on the evolution of Delta Plan 2100.  
  • 2014
    • Hon’ble Foreign Minister, H.E. A. H. Mahmood Ali, MP visited the Netherlands from 20-23 April 2014. 
    • Hon’ble Minister for Cultural Affairs, H.E. Asaduzzaman Noor, MP visited the Netherlands 19-21 October 2014 to attend 6th Asia-Europe Cultural Ministers Meeting in Rotterdam.
    • Hon’ble State Minister for Water Resources H.E. Mr. Muhammad Nazrul Islam Bir Protik visited the Netherlands from 21-27 September 2014 for a study visit.
